Unit 4: Checklist Two (Categorised Unit 4 Criteria 2 & 3)

1) A word document or a presentation with screenshots that analyses how the Attack the Block poster is constructed to appeal to the target audience and how it is understood by the target audience. Introduce the film, say who directed it, when it was released, what genre it is, what its budget was and how much money it made (IMDB research). Clearly state who the target audience is. Use the chart we filled in to help structure your analysis. You need to constantly refer back to why the poster was constructed like it was and how it creates meaning for the target audience. You also need to constantly refer to how it appeals to the target audience.

Unit 4: Checklist One (all work categorised Unit 4 Criterion 1)

1) Vocational Scenario: Write back to Mr Gregory accepting and thanking him for the work he's asked you to do.

2) Audience Classification: Age. Do a presentation about how the film industry categorises audiences for films with different age ratings. Explain what the BBFC ratings are and explain each age rating with examples of films that have that rating.

3) 3 slides showing 3 different ways of clissifying audiences: Socioeconomic classification, Young and Rubicam's 4 consumers and Life Matrix.

4) A slide explaining why Bollywood films are shown in the UK, whereabouts they are shown and some examples of Bollywood films and how much money they made worldwide.

5) An anaylsis of how film posters target different genders. Choose two film posters - one for a film aimed at women and one for a film aimed at men - analyse all the ways they try to appeal to those different genders.

6) How does the film industry conduct audience research? Create a table showing the main types of audience research the film industry conducts (Focus groups, questionnaires, box office takings, test screenings), explain what each one is and what the pros and cons of each one are.

7) Conduct a focus group or a questionnaire to find out how successful your film trailer was. Explain the process of creating the questionnaire or running the focus group and explain what you found out from it. (YOU DON'T NEED TO DO THIS ONE)
